Similar in size to a sparrow, with rufous-brown plumage and an orange-toned tail, which is usually cocked. It can be found in olive groves, vineyards, almond or fig orchards. It feeds mainly on insects, but also takes spiders, worms and caterpillars. It arrives at the end of April and having raised its brood, will return to Africa at the end of August or early September.
