Slightly smaller than a dove with an acrobatic flight like a swallow. Its upperparts are olive brown and underparts white, with a buffish-yellow throat with a black border. It nests on the ground on fallow land and the muddy banks of islands in lakes. They feed on insects captured on the wing.
