A rather non-descript bird but with an attractive song. It occurs along rivers and creeks with abundant vegetation, where it virtually disappears, only making its presence known to other Reed Warblers with its loud song. In Extremadura it is a summer visitor and breeds mainly in the floodplains of the Guadiana.
