A small bird with yellowish-green plumage, a prominent yellowish supercilium (eyebripe), and pale legs. It is distinguished from the Common Chiffchaff by its characteristic trisyllabic song and slightly brighter plumage.
There is no evident sexual dimorphism. It prefers open woodland, riverside copses, and scrubland with scattered trees.
In Extremadura, it is a very common summer visitor that breeds in dehesas and mountainous areas throughout the region before departing for Africa.
