Very small, not more than half the size of a sparrow. It has yellowish green plumage on the upperparts and is paler below, It occurs in gardens, valleys, hedgerows and dehesas. It feeds exclusively on small insects and helps to prevent pest infestations in orchards and gardens. It does not breed in Extremadura and is common on passage.
