Smaller than a sparrow, with brown mottled plumage on the back, orange breast and large white patches on the side of the neck. It is very common along tracks, open dehesas, and clumps of trees and bushes. It perches on bare twigs to wait for small insects on which it feeds. It is present throughout the year in Extremadura.
