The Garganta de los Infiernos is located in the Jerte Valley region, between the northwest slope of the Sierra de Tormantos, the southwest slope of the Sierra de Gredos and the Jerte River. It was declared a Natural Reserve (1994) due to the important ecological value of its montane ecosystems (riparian forest, deciduous forest and high mountains).
Water plays an important role in maintaining the balance between the different ecosystems, hence the importance of the water network… To better understand this area, we can visit the two Interpretation Centres and take one of the recommended routes.
