This town in the Sierra de Gata (Cáceres) will host the second edition of the ‘Vegaviana Bee-eater Paradise’ Birding Festival on 24 May 2026, dedicated to this striking bird that spends spring and summer in Extremadura.
The programme includes a birdwatching route, a guided walk through the village, and talks on bee-eaters and the region’s birdlife. In addition, there will be an exhibition by nature photographers Javier Florentino Simón and Óscar Cruz, who organises these events in collaboration with the Town Council and several companies.
